Privacy

The protection of your personal data when it is collected, processed and used during your visit to our website is important to us. Your data is protected in accordance with legal regulations. Below you will find information on what data is collected during your visit to our website and how it is used:

1. collection and processing of data
1.1 Every access to our website and every retrieval of a file stored on the site is logged. Our provider (or the computer centre in which the website is hosted) collects the information provided by your internet provider: in particular the name of the website, the date/time of access, the amount of data transferred, the IP address assigned to you, the HTTP status code, information about the browser and operating system you are using, and in some cases the so-called "referrer" (the source page from which you came to the current website or file). If this is carried out automatically by the web host, it is only analysed for statistical purposes, whereby the individual user remains anonymous.  The collection of this data is also necessary in order to be able to trace (possible) misuse and therefore serves as legal protection.

Matomo
We measure the statistical evaluation and analysis of the performance and usage behaviour of people on our website using Matomo Analytics from Innocraft Ltd. "Matomo" was selected as a better and more secure replacement for Google Analytics. This means that the necessary data collected by Matomo remains within the European area.

Matomo is an open source tool for analysing the behaviour of our website visitors in order to continuously improve the user-friendliness of our websites.

The data is also collected and analysed anonymously for statistical purposes using Matomo Analytics. The user's IP address is automatically truncated so that it is no longer possible to draw conclusions about individual persons. The anonymisation is carried out by masking 2 bytes of the visitor IP, which means that it is no longer possible to clearly assign the data collected to a specific IP address.

Matomo Analytics uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer and enable your use of this website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is transmitted to a Matomo Analytics server in the EU and stored there (data traffic from the EU remains in the EU). See Matomo's privacy policy here: matomo.org/matomo-cloud-privacy-policy/)).

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Matomo Analytics in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

You can prevent the collection of data generated by cookies and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Matomo Analytics and the processing of this data by Matomo Analytics by selecting the opt-out here.

1.2 Further personal data is collected when you
- register as a user on a MED TRUST website,
- send contact enquiries via the form on a MED TRUST website,
- use the wish list or shopping basket on a MED TRUST website, or
- place orders via a MED TRUST web shop

This data is stored by MED TRUST and, if necessary, transmitted exclusively to enable MED TRUST to fulfil a contract or because you have consented to the processing and transmission of your personal data by MED TRUST. Failure to provide personal data would mean that the extended functionality of the MED TRUST website, which is described below, could not be provided at all or only to a limited extent.

3. Google custom search
This website uses the "Google Custom Search" component ("Google custom search") from Google Inc. ("Google"), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA as a central search service. The integrated search service enables a full-text search for content on our website. Access to this search function is possible via a search box integrated in the header of the individual web pages. By entering a search term in the search box and pressing the enter key or the search icon (magnifying glass symbol), you activate the search function and the search results page is called up, which loads the corresponding search results from Google using a plugin provided by Google. The use of the search function provided by Google involves a dynamic transfer of data by Google to the search results page.  In principle, no data is transferred to Google when you access the pages of our website in which Google Custom Search is integrated. Data is only transferred to Google after you have activated the search box, started a full-text search and called up the search results page. By using the search function within the search results page, data of the respective user is also transmitted to Google at the same time. By using the full-text search and calling up the search results page, you consent to the use of the Google search service and thus also to the transfer of data to the Google service. Your IP address is always required to display the content, because without the IP address Google would not be able to send the content to your browser. If you are logged in to Google at the same time, Google is able to assign the information directly to your user profile. You should log out to avoid the collection of profile information about you. You can find more data protection information about Google at policies.google.com/privacy

4. Google maps
MED TRUST uses the embed function: this places the interactive map of our company location on the website with a simple HTTP request.  The embed function enables the map to be called up directly and interactively on our website.
