Wellion LUNA CHOL test strips for cholesterol measurement

The Wellion LUNA cholesterol test strips are used together with the Wellion LUNA trio meter to measure the concentration of blood cholesterol in capillary blood from fingertips.

Check your total cholesterol level in the comfort of your own home. Measuring your cholesterol at home is not a substitute for seeing your GP, but it can help you see the results of your medication and lifestyle changes, in addition to your regular check-ups.

Handling

1. Wash your hands with soap and water before each use.

2. Remove the Wellion LUNA cholesterol test strip from the test strip container. Insert the test strip into the meter to turn it on. The display will show the "Chol" symbol, the flashing blood drop symbol and the test strip symbol.

3. Press a lancing device (with a fresh lancet) against the side of your fingertip and press the release button to prick your finger and obtain a drop of blood.

4. Now hold the tip of the test strip at a slight angle to the blood sample. The test strip will suck up the blood like a straw. The meter will beep to let you know when there is enough blood for the measurement. The display will show a countdown, and after 26 seconds, the measurement result will appear on the display.

Useful tips

• Do not use expired test strips.

• Always check the expiry date, which is shown on the test strip box and packaging.

• Seal the test strip vial IMMEDIATELY after removing a test strip to protect the remaining test strips from moisture.

• Use test strips immediately after removing them from the vial.

• Do not use wet or damaged test strips.

• Avoid direct sunlight and heat. Store the test strips in a dry, cool environment (not in the bathroom).

• Write the opening date on the test strip vial label. Dispose of the remaining test strips 9 months after they are first opened.

• Dispose of the used test strip and lancet immediately after testing.
